After spending the summer away from each other, Titus and Iolanthe (still disguised as Archer Fairfax) are eager to return to Eton College to resume their training to fight the Bane. Although no longer bound to Titus by a blood oath, Iolanthe is more committed than ever to fulfilling her destiny—especially with the agents of Atlantis quickly closing in.

Soon after arriving at school, though, Titus makes a shocking discovery, one that makes him question everything he previously believed about their mission. Faced with this devastating realization, Iolanthe is forced to come to terms with her new role, while Titus must choose between following his mother's prophecies—and forging a divergent path to an unknowable future.

Feelings:

I really enjoyed this book. I had to wait for a while before I could get a copy of this book, which is what happens when you try to stop yourself from buying books by using the library. It was worth the wait.

This book switched between the present and the past where the last book, The Burning Sky, left off. I liked the shift between past and present because it while I was uncovering the past I wasn't let in it didn't change the present or take away any of the surprises.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys young adult fantasy. I am really looking forward to the next in the series.
